Malaysia Airlines Group orders 30 Boeing 737MAX aircraft

Malaysia Airlines Group has announced an order for 30 Boeing aircraft as part of its fleet modernization strategy. The order includes 18 Boeing 737-8 aircraft and 12 Boeing 737-10 aircraft, with an option to purchase 30 more.
Malaysia Airlines Group will gradually phase out its old Boeing 737-800 fleet and build a modern narrow-body fleet of 55 Boeing 737-8 and Boeing 737-10 aircraft by 2030.
Malaysia Airlines Group currently holds 25 Boeing 737-8 orders, which are leased long-term through ALC Aircraft Leasing Company, of which 11 have been delivered and the remaining aircraft will be delivered by 2027. The group currently has a total fleet of 113 aircraft, including 42 Boeing 737-800 aircraft for Malaysia Airlines and 5 Boeing 737-800 aircraft for Firefly Airlines.
