A small plane in Japan ran off the runway during landing, no one was injured

Civil Aviation Resources Network, April 14, 2025: According to Japanese media reports, an accident occurred at the Central Japan International Airport in Nagoya, Japan, on the evening of April 13, local time. A small plane flying from Tokyo Narita Airport to Central Japan International Airport ran off the runway during landing and stopped on the grass. No one was injured. The runway was closed for about 3 and a half hours, causing many domestic and foreign flights to be diverted or canceled.

According to the Japan Broadcasting Association (NHK), the Central Japan Airport Office of the Osaka Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan pointed out that the small plane deviated from the runway when landing at the Central Japan Airport at around 10 pm on the 13th, and finally stopped on the grass next to the runway. There were only two pilots on board, and neither was injured. After the accident, the runway was not resumed until around 1:30 am on the 14th.

 

It is reported that many flights were affected, including 6 domestic flights that temporarily landed at Kansai Airport or Haneda Airport, 1 international flight was canceled, and 1 flight was delayed.
