Civil Aviation Resources Network, December 15, 2024: According to Lianhe Zaobao, on December 13, local time, an AirAsia flight from Penang to Singapore returned urgently 15 minutes after takeoff due to suspected cracked cockpit windshield, and no injuries were reported.

It is reported that the flight involved was AirAsia flight AK1729, which was originally scheduled to take off from Penang International Airport at 18:55 on the 13th and arrive at Singapore Changi Airport at 20:20 on the same day.

A male passenger on board told the media that the flight initially took off at around 9:30 pm on the 13th after being delayed for two hours, but 15 minutes after takeoff, the windshield of the plane was suspected to be broken, and the flight returned urgently and landed safely.

Subsequently, the flight was delayed for several hours and did not depart for Singapore until 6 am on the 14th. The media is seeking more information from AirAsia.
