Boeing begins 777-9 certification flight testing

Boeing has begun certification flight testing of the Boeing 777-9 under the supervision of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), according to Reuters.
Boeing said it conducted its first flight test of the 777-9 on the evening of July 12 after receiving the Type Inspection Authorization (TIA).
Type Inspection Authorization is usually associated with the start of type certification and is conducted after the FAA has reviewed the technical data. FAA pilots will participate in the certification flight test.
Boeing has said that the 777-9 aircraft will undergo the most thorough flight testing in Boeing's history.
The Boeing 777-9 aircraft is part of the 777X project, which has experienced multiple delays since its launch in 2013.
According to Boeing's website, as of the end of June, Boeing 777X had received 540 orders.
