Civil Aviation Resources Network, October 8, 2024: Cebu Pacific Airlines of the Philippines has confirmed an order for 70 A321neo aircraft from Airbus, implementing the memorandum of understanding announced by the company in July this year. The order was signed in Manila by Mike Szucs, CEO of Cebu Pacific Airlines, and Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President of Sales for Airbus Civil Aircraft.
Cebu Pacific operates 61 Airbus A320 family aircraft to serve its extensive regional network. In addition, the company operates nine A330 widebody aircraft for high-density routes in the region and routes to the Middle East. According to the latest orders, the airline has 94 A320neo family aircraft and seven A330neos waiting for delivery.
The Airbus A321neo aircraft is the largest member of the Airbus A320neo family aircraft, with excellent range capabilities and performance. Thanks to the application of new generation engines and sharklet winglets, the A321neo can reduce the noise impact area by 50% and reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by at least 20% compared with the previous generation of single-aisle aircraft. At the same time, the wider cabin in the single-aisle aircraft provides better comfort for passengers. To date, the A321neo aircraft has received more than 6,500 orders from more than 90 customers around the world.
