On December 1, 2025, at 11:08 AM, China Eastern Airlines flight MU9179 landed smoothly at Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport at an altitude of 1948.7 meters (6394 feet), marking the official commencement of scheduled commercial flights between Shanghai and Lanzhou for the domestically produced C919 large passenger aircraft. This is the first time China Eastern Airlines has used the C919 to operate flights to a high-altitude airport.
