China Southern Airlines launches direct flight from Guangzhou to Belgrade

Recently, China Southern Airlines Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as "China Southern Airlines") and Air Serbia (hereinafter referred to as "Air Serbia") signed a memorandum of understanding in Belgrade. This cooperation aims to deepen the cooperative relationship between the two parties and explore broader areas of cooperation to meet the growing travel needs of passengers, serve the "Belt and Road" initiative, and enhance international aviation accessibility.
According to the memorandum, the two parties will further enhance the complementarity of the global route network by expanding intermodal cooperation and establishing code sharing, and provide passengers with more diverse travel options. In addition, the two parties will also provide each other with cooperation opportunities in the fields of cargo and third-party business, strengthen global synergy, and work together to build Guangzhou and Belgrade international aviation hubs to provide passengers with smoother, more convenient and better seamless services.
Han Wensheng, General Manager of China Southern Airlines, said: "China Southern Airlines launched a new route from Guangzhou to Belgrade on September 25, which will effectively promote the connectivity between China and the countries participating in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. The signing of this memorandum of understanding is China Southern Airlines' response to the Belt and Road Initiative and a new starting point for the cooperation between China Southern Airlines and Air Serbia. In the future, China Southern Airlines looks forward to working with Air Serbia on this basis to provide passengers with a more excellent customer experience."
Mr. Jiri Marek, CEO of Air Serbia, said: "The Chinese market is an important part of Air Serbia's strategic planning. In the past two years, we have successfully operated flights to Tianjin. On September 30, we launched the first direct flight from Belgrade to Guangzhou, and plan to open a route to Shanghai at the end of 2024. The memorandum of understanding signed with China Southern Airlines marks the further deepening of the relationship between the two sides and also strengthens the connectivity between China and Serbia. While expanding commercial cooperation, we are also considering exploring the feasibility of joint ventures in the future, which will further enhance the connectivity between Serbia and China and bring more diverse choices to passengers. The prospects are broad, and we look forward to exploring more cooperation with China Southern Airlines."

It is understood that China Southern Airlines has opened a direct flight from Guangzhou to Belgrade on September 25, which will be operated every Wednesday and Sunday, with Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The outbound flight number is CZ667, which takes off from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 01:55 Beijing time, with a flight time of about 12 hours and 5 minutes, and arrives at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport at 08:00 local time; the return flight number is CZ668, which takes off from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport at 11:00 local time, with a flight time of about 11 hours, and arrives at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 04:00 the next day Beijing time. Serbian Airlines has opened a direct flight from Belgrade to Guangzhou since September 30, taking off from Belgrade to Guangzhou at 00:20 every Monday and Friday morning, and the return flight will depart from Guangzhou to Belgrade at 22:10 on Monday and Friday, operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
