CCTV News reporter learned from the Civil Aviation Administration of China that after the earthquake, the Civil Aviation Administration of China immediately studied and deployed civil aviation emergency response work. At the same time, a working group of the Civil Aviation Administration of Southwest China was sent to Lhasa to guide the Civil Aviation Administration of Tibet to set up a forward command center.
At present, Dingri Airport and other units are conducting damage inspections and timely restoring operational support capabilities to ensure safe, stable and orderly operations.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China has coordinated three passenger planes and four crews of Air China and Sichuan Airlines to prepare for disaster relief transportation capacity backup; coordinated two Mi-171 helicopters of China General Aviation and Qingdao Helicopters to stand by in Linzhi, and organized Snow Eagle General Aviation to send two helicopters to prepare for earthquake relief missions; and dispatched air traffic control and meteorological personnel of the Southwest Air Traffic Control Bureau to Tibet to fully support the air traffic control work of Dingri Airport.
On January 7, the civil aviation supported 4 disaster relief flights, transporting about 86 disaster relief personnel; at 9:10 this morning, Air China's CA049 earthquake relief charter flight took off from Lhasa Airport and landed at Shigatse Dingri Airport, transporting 42 airport support staff to Dingri Airport for support, providing sufficient ground support for subsequent disaster relief flight support work. It is expected that the civil aviation will support 7 disaster relief flights throughout the day today, transporting 170 disaster relief personnel and 25.6 tons of supplies.
