Civil Aviation Resources Network, October 22, 2024: According to Reuters, Emirates has ordered five Boeing 777F freighters and will decide this year whether to purchase further Boeing or Airbus freighters. The airline said on Monday that its fleet will increase by 15 models after 2028 or 2029.
The announcement confirmed Reuters' report last week that Emirates had ordered 777F freighters in September as part of a new order for 11 777F freighters disclosed by Boeing earlier this month, but did not disclose the name of the airline.
Emirates said in a statement that it had also signed a multi-year lease extension with Dubai Aviation Enterprise, covering the four Boeing 777F aircraft it currently operates.
Emirates also said it was negotiating between two newer models - the Airbus A350F and the Boeing 777X freighter version - and would make a decision by the end of the year.
