On September 30, following the incident involving flight FZ1073, flydubai issued a statement announcing that, in coordination with relevant authorities, it is suspending flights to and from Israel while the investigation into the incident is underway.
flydubai stated that this temporary suspension provides the necessary time and space for the relevant authorities to continue their investigation and establish all the facts surrounding the incident.
The airline will fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation and maintain close coordination with government bodies, regulatory agencies, and airport partners, while re-evaluating flight operations as further information becomes available.
flydubai sincerely apologizes for the disruption to passengers' travel plans and is working to provide support and alternative arrangements wherever possible.

On September 30, while flight FZ1073 was en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv, the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the captain with a knife inside the cockpit, causing the aircraft to make a sudden, rapid descent. Other crew members and passengers on board subdued the attacker, regained control of the plane, and diverted to Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia. [This incident was "extremely serious"! ]
Both the injured captain and the co-pilot were taken to the hospital for treatment; the co-pilot has been detained. No passengers were injured.
Later that day, flydubai arranged another aircraft to transport the passengers to Tel Aviv.
After the flight arrived in Tel Aviv, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met at the airport with Yaniv Hayun, a passenger who had entered the cockpit and helped subdue the co-pilot during the incident. "You are a hero. You deserve a global medal of honor."

In addition, Netanyahu paid tribute to Indian pilot Smit Machchhar, hailing him as a true hero. Netanyahu stated that Machchhar displayed extraordinary courage; despite sustaining serious injuries, he fought back and opened the cockpit door, allowing passengers and crew to enter and subdue the attacker, thereby averting a catastrophic mid-air disaster. He saved the lives of 174 people, the majority of whom were Israeli citizens.
