Global Industry Gathers in Hong Kong to Participate in International Aviation Forum 2023

 

News from Civil Aviation Resources Network on August 3, 2023: The International Aviation Forum 2023, co-organized by Hong Kong International Airport and the International Air Transport Association, kicked off at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong on August 2. In his welcoming speech, Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, said: "The current economic prospects of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area are optimistic, coupled with a series of forward-looking infrastructure developments, which fully prove that Hong Kong's development prospects as an aviation hub are bright. The government is actively working with the Airport Authority to build Hong Kong International Airport into an "Airport City". Under this vision, the airport will become a center with the aviation industry at its core and a gathering of various economic activities, making the airport a driving force for the overall growth of Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area New impetus. The government will make every effort to develop Hong Kong into an aircraft leasing and service hub by providing tax incentives to attract more aircraft leasing companies to come to Hong Kong. At the same time, it will support the human resources training of the aviation industry and welcome more overseas airlines with professional knowledge and experience talents from all over the world to develop in Hong Kong.”

AA Chairman So Ze-kwong pointed out: "We warmly welcome people from the aviation industry from all over the world to participate in this forum. In the past three years, countries around the world have been deeply affected by the epidemic, and Hong Kong International Airport is not immune. Full of confidence, not only actively maintain the normal operation of the airport, but also make every effort to promote the three-runway system project and create a future. After the expansion, the capacity of Hong Kong International Airport will increase by 50%, and it will be able to handle 120 million passengers and 10 million metric tons of cargo every year quantity."

 

In addition, Wan Xiangdong, chief pilot of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, also delivered a keynote speech at the forum.

The International Aviation Forum 2023 includes speeches and panel discussions by industry leaders to share opinions on new opportunities for air travel and air cargo in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and new technology trends in the aviation industry.
