Civil Aviation Resource Network News on November 18, 2022: According to the communiqué issued by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government on November 17, the nucleic acid testing arrangements for arrivals from overseas regions or Taiwan will be adjusted from the 21st of this month. Relevant persons only need to undergo nucleic acid testing on the day of arrival (i.e. "test release" at the airport) and the second day after arrival, and rapid antigen tests every day after arrival until the seventh day after arrival. The current compulsory nucleic acid testing requirements on the fourth and sixth days after arrival in Hong Kong will be withdrawn.
After the adjustment, the details of the new testing arrangements for arrivals from overseas regions or Taiwan (aged 3 or above on the day of arrival) are as follows—
24 hours before boarding: rapid antigen test;
Day 0 (i.e., the day of arrival): Nucleic acid test for "test and release" upon arrival at the airport;
The next day: Go to a community testing center/testing station, a temporary mobile sampling station, or go to a local medical testing institution approved by the government at your own expense to take professional swab samples for nucleic acid testing; and
From the first day to the seventh day: Take a rapid antigen test every day, and you can go out only after getting a negative result.
Starting from November 21, for those who have arrived in Hong Kong before that day, if they have undergone the mandatory nucleic acid test on the second day as required, they will not need to carry out the mandatory nucleic acid test on the fourth day and the sixth day, but still A rapid antigen test is required every day after arriving in Hong Kong, and you can only go out after getting a negative result until the seventh day after arriving in Hong Kong.
For people arriving from the Mainland or Macau, the requirement to undergo nucleic acid testing the day after their arrival in Hong Kong remains unchanged.
