Civil Aviation Resources Network, June 21, 2024: According to ANTARA News, officials from the Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Information said that on June 20, local time, the Indonesian National Data Center system was attacked by a cyber attack, which affected the entry and exit services of all international airports in Indonesia.

Relevant people said that in order to ensure that international passengers can fly smoothly as planned, Indonesian immigration staff will assist all departing passengers in going through the formalities at the airport and assist arriving passengers in customs clearance. Due to the system interruption, international passengers are advised to arrive at the airport in advance to cope with the possible longer waiting time for immigration inspection.

In addition, people who plan to go to the Immigration Bureau to handle passport business can still get services as planned. However, expedited passport applications for the day cannot be processed for the time being. Once the system returns to normal, this service will be restarted immediately.

"Once the National Data Center system returns to normal, the General Directorate of Immigration will immediately notify the public so that immigration services can be fully restored."

It is reported that the Indonesian National Data Center system is currently gradually resuming services. As of 7 a.m. local time on June 21, the entry and exit services at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in the capital Jakarta were still subject to certain disruptions.
