Civil Aviation Resources Network, May 31, 2024: According to foreign media reports, on May 29, local time, a man was sucked into the engine of an E190 passenger plane of KLM Cityhopper when it was pushed out of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The Royal Dutch Gendarmerie responsible for the investigation issued a statement saying: "The identity of the deceased has been confirmed. He is an employee of a stationed unit at Schiphol Airport. The investigation showed that the deceased deliberately walked towards the engine, which indicates that this was a suicide case. Out of respect for the victims and sympathy for their relatives, we will no longer make any further statements."

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines previously issued a statement saying that a fatal accident occurred at Schiphol Airport on May 29, in which one person died after falling into a running engine. The flight involved was flight KL1341 to Billund. We are providing care for passengers and employees who witnessed the accident. The accident is currently under investigation.
