Civil Aviation Resources Network, July 3, 2025: According to Libyan Express, Libyan Airlines recently denied rumors of its impending bankruptcy, emphasizing that flight operations have not been affected and all routes are operating as usual.
In an official statement, Libyan Airlines said that it is indeed facing major financial and technical challenges, and the company is improving operational efficiency and ensuring long-term sustainable development through targeted strategic planning.
Company spokesman Ahmed Al-Taira reiterated the management's determination to promote the company's restructuring and revitalization, and urgently called on the Libyan government and relevant competent authorities to provide necessary support.
Taira pointed out that Libyan Airlines has received almost no substantial assistance in the past three years, especially after the armed conflict in Tripoli caused serious damage to the company's fleet.
On Wednesday, Libyan Airlines executives issued a detailed statement comprehensively explaining the root causes of the company's current crisis. The statement said that due to the situation, employee salary payments were delayed and several welfare projects were forced to be suspended, and most of these problems were not caused by the company's subjective.
The statement also pointed out that the crisis began when Tripoli International Airport was severely damaged, and many aircraft and spare parts warehouses were destroyed, resulting in a temporary interruption of operations. The losses paralyzed most of the company's fleet, and only one or two aircraft are barely available, which greatly limits the ability to execute routes.
Libyan Airlines said it will continue to work hard to restore capacity and hopes to get out of trouble and revive with the support of the government and all sectors of society.
