Civil Aviation Resources Network, July 4, 2024: According to foreign media reports, on July 2, local time, a female Korean Air flight attendant was preparing to board a plane at Terminal 2 of Incheon Airport when airport staff found a live bullet in her suitcase.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Seoul Incheon Airport Police Department pointed out that a female Korean Air flight attendant was preparing to board a plane at Terminal 2 at around 7:30 am on the 2nd to fly to Bangkok. When the staff checked her, they found a 7.62mm caliber live bullet in her suitcase.
The police temporarily allowed her to go abroad and planned to investigate the process of carrying live bullets immediately after she returned to South Korea. At present, the live bullet has been recovered by the police.
Korean Air's internal investigation showed that the flight attendant did not deliberately bring live bullets on board; it is understood that after returning to her hometown recently, she brought back a makeup bag she used as a child and placed it in her carry-on luggage. Because she did not open it in advance to confirm, she did not find an ancient live bullet in it.
Korean Air said: "We will actively cooperate with the police investigation and use this incident as an opportunity to raise safety awareness. We have conducted regular aviation safety education for flight attendants and will strengthen training for all employees in the future."
