Oklahoma plans to invest $316 million in airport upgrades

 

News from Civil Aviation Resources Network on March 12, 2024: According to Simpleflying, the Oklahoma Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics (ODAA) announced that after the Oklahoma Department of Transportation held its latest meeting, it plans to invest $316 million to upgrade the state's airports.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Aeronautics and Space, the upcoming Fiscal Year 2025 and Fiscal Year 2029 Airport Construction Plan (ACP) includes 44 growth-enhancing development projects with a total budget of $316 million. The Oklahoma Department of Aeronautics and Space will contribute $71.9 million to fund the projects, with the remainder coming from the Federal Aviation Administration ($196 million) and local matching funds ($47 million).

Nick Young, airport division manager for the Oklahoma Department of Aeronautics and Space, said the department is pleased to invest in Oklahoma's four airports through this program and said these projects not only upgrade infrastructure, but also promote economic growth and Long-term sustainable development of the community.
