According to Lianhe Zaobao, an air traffic control failure at Paris Orly Airport in France has caused hundreds of flights to be canceled or delayed, and thousands of passengers have also been affected.

AFP reported that a control tower failure occurred at Paris Orly Airport on Sunday (May 18), resulting in the cancellation of about 130 flights.

As of Sunday evening, the problem has not been resolved. The French Civil Aviation Authority said the situation may continue until Monday (19th) and has asked airlines to reduce their flight schedules by 15%, warning that "delays are expected."

The French Civil Aviation Authority said: "The situation is improving, but traffic control is still needed." An airport source said it was a "radar failure."

Flights to destinations in Europe and North Africa, as well as within France, were also affected. Long queues formed in front of the terminal and a large number of passengers were looking for alternative transportation.

Last year, Orly Airport had a passenger flow of about 33 million, about half the passenger flow of Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport.
