According to the Russian Satellite News Agency, the press office of the Russian Association of Tour Operators quoted Svetlana Fomenko, chairman of the Novosibirsk Association of Tourism Organizations, as saying that Russian airline S7 will launch a direct flight from Siberia to Shanghai in May. A route from Novosibirsk to Beijing will be added.
Fomenko pointed out: "Currently, S7 flights from Novosibirsk to Beijing operate two flights per week, which will increase to five flights from May 1. In addition, from May 2, we will also launch flights to Shanghai , operating twice a week. All of the above flights will be scheduled flights."
It is expected that in the autumn of 2024, Russian airline S7 may open a route from Novosibirsk to Hainan.
Earlier in January 2024, S7 Airlines stated on its official Telegram channel that it planned to resume regular direct flights from Novosibirsk to Shanghai. Flights from Novosibirsk to Shanghai are planned to be launched on May 1, with one flight every Wednesday and Sunday.
S7 Airlines first announced the Novosibirsk-Shanghai route at the end of May 2016. At the time, the route was operating twice a week, but was later suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
