Civil Aviation Resources Network, September 23, 2024: Ryanair, a European low-cost airline, recently recommended that passengers traveling abroad should try not to choose black, gray and navy blue for their luggage. Because these colors of luggage are quite common at airports, it is easy to pick up the wrong luggage.

According to Cork Boe, Ryanair, a European low-cost airline, recently issued a statement that if tourists traveling abroad do not want to pick up the wrong luggage, they can add colored luggage tags or ribbons to their luggage to avoid picking up the wrong luggage.

Ryanair also emphasized in the statement that if the luggage is black, navy blue or gray, passengers should pay more attention to whether the luggage is taken incorrectly, because up to 99.9% of passengers use these three colors.

In addition, Ryanair also recommends that passengers copy their passports, driver's licenses or ID cards and send them to themselves via email, and recommends taking photos of important documents and saving them on their mobile phones for offline use.

Over the past six years, several budget airlines, including Ryanair, have halved the size of hand luggage included in the base fare, meaning passengers could face extra charges if they arrive at the airport with oversized luggage.

According to the BBC, a survey this summer found that Ryanair, EasyJet and Wizz Air have all halved luggage sizes since 2018. Ryanair has made the biggest cut, with the maximum size of free cabin luggage shrinking from 55x40x20cm in 2018 to 40x20x25cm in 2024, a 55% reduction.
