Civil Aviation Resources Network, November 01, 2024: According to Reuters, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport said on Thursday that it will increase the fees charged to airlines by a total of 37% within three years. Schiphol Airport said in a statement that by 2027, airlines will pay an average of 15 euros more for each local passenger departing from Schiphol Airport.
The company said that the fees will increase by 41% next year, 5% in 2026 and 7.5% in 2027.
In August this year, the airport said it would invest 6 billion euros by 2029, which was called the largest investment plan in its history.
"These fees will be used for necessary investments to improve the quality of infrastructure, provide better services for passengers and airlines, and improve working conditions for employees," Schiphol Airport said in a statement.
The company also said that the fees will be used to reduce noise pollution, and night flights will be charged extra.
