Recently, an investor asked Baiyun Airport on its investor interaction platform: Since the closure and relocation of Terminal 1 on May 7th, the passenger experience at Baiyun Airport's Terminal 3 has plummeted, with numerous complaints on social media: Landing on the west runway takes up to 45 minutes, and the time from landing to cabin door opening exceeds 55 minutes; there is no direct subway access, and intercity transfer guidance is confusing; roads for picking up and dropping off passengers are congested all day, with taxi queues exceeding 100 people, and many passengers reported being stuck in the airport for two hours after disembarking. Many passengers have explicitly stated that they will only choose China Southern Airlines' Terminal 2 for future flights to Guangzhou, which has directly impacted the company's passenger flow and brand image. Does the company have any emergency rectification plans? When will the subway connection be implemented? When is it expected that the current negative reputation of Terminal 3 can be reversed?
Baiyun Airport responded that Baiyun Airport currently has two terminal areas and five runways, covering a large geographical area. During peak flight periods and under conditions such as weather restrictions, scheduling resources are strained, leading to longer taxiing times for some flights. Through coordinated scheduling optimization, landing taxiing times have improved. The subway connection at Terminal 3 is a municipal public infrastructure project planned and implemented by provincial and municipal government departments. Currently, Terminal 3 covers four major travel modes: intercity rail, subway connections, direct buses, and ride-hailing/taxi services. Ride-hailing pick-up and drop-off points have been optimized. The company will take passenger feedback as its greatest motivation for improvement, continuously optimizing various details and constantly enhancing the passenger travel experience.
According to the official announcement from Baiyun Airport, the ride-hailing pick-up point at Gate 72 of the arrival area of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Terminal 3 officially began trial operation on May 21st.

The new ride-hailing pick-up point is located outside Gate 72 of the domestic arrivals area on the first floor of Terminal 3. Domestic arrivals are approximately 50 meters away, and international arrivals are approximately 150 meters away, eliminating the need to navigate through the transportation center and allowing passengers to "pick up right outside their door." This area has 21 dedicated parking spaces, neatly arranged and clearly marked, each equipped with an electronic display showing the corresponding ride-hailing vehicle's license plate number in real time.
In addition, intercity trains (connected by Metro Lines 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 14, and 22) provide direct access to Baiyun Airport Terminal 3. This route avoids traffic congestion, detours, and requires minimal walking, offering convenient access both within and outside the city, making it the most efficient and preferred mode of transportation.
After taking the intercity train and disembarking at Baiyun Airport East Station (Terminal 3), exiting from the transportation center on the second basement level, it's a 3-5 minute walk to reach the Terminal 3 departure hall.
