On October 29, 2025, Civil Aviation Resource Network reported that Xiamen Airlines (hereinafter referred to as "Xiamen Airlines") took delivery of its first Airbus A320neo aircraft in Toulouse, France, becoming the newest customer operating this efficient and advanced single-aisle aircraft.

The Airbus A320neo will be powered by Leap-1A engines supplied by CFM International and features a single cabin layout with 180 seats.

Xiamen Airlines was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Xiamen, Fujian Province, on the southeast coast of China. Xiamen Airlines operates over 400 domestic and international routes, carrying over 43 million passengers annually. As of the end of September 2025, Xiamen Airlines will operate 17 Airbus A321neo aircraft.

The Airbus A320neo family of aircraft is one of the world's most popular single-aisle aircraft, with over 11,256 orders from more than 140 customers. This family of aircraft combines advanced aerodynamic design, next-generation engines, and enhanced cabin functionality, delivering greater efficiency, passenger comfort, and operational flexibility.

Like all Airbus aircraft, the Airbus A320neo is currently capable of flying on up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus aims to have all its aircraft capable of flying on up to 100% SAF fuel by 2030.
