Civil Aviation Resources Network, April 28, 2024: According to Reuters, American Airlines stated that due to delayed delivery of the 787, the airline will make adjustments to some routes in the second half of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025.

The company stated, "We are currently making adjustments to some routes to ensure that we can rearrange for passengers on affected flights."

The airline added that it is actively contacting affected customers and will provide alternative solutions for them.

American Airlines stated that the route adjustment will not stop any destination services, and the company will continue to provide services on 55 long-distance international routes this winter.

According to previous reports, Southwest Airlines has also taken other cost cutting measures, such as restricting recruitment, providing employees with voluntary leave options, and ceasing operations at four airports: Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport, New York's Syracuse Hancock International Airport, Washington Bellingham International Airport, and Mexico's Cosumel International Airport.
