Civil Aviation Resources Network, February 25, 2025: On the morning of February 25, local time, a Jin Air flight LJ371 from Busan, South Korea to Okinawa, Japan, returned urgently due to an abnormality in the aircraft after takeoff.

 

According to reports, the flight was operated by a 737-800 with 183 crew members and passengers on board, and no one was injured.

Shortly after the plane took off from Busan, the engine made a loud noise, and it was decided to return urgently for safety reasons. After circling for more than an hour, the plane ran out of fuel and landed safely at Gimhae Airport.

 

Some passengers on board said that they heard loud noises from the engine area several times during takeoff, and some claimed to have seen flames near the wings in mid-air.

An official from Jin Air confirmed that the engine sounded abnormal after the plane took off. The official said that although it was confirmed that it was not a technical problem, the passenger plane decided to return to ensure the safety of passengers.

Jin Air said that other alternative flights had been arranged after the plane landed at Gimhae Airport.
