According to COMAC, on August 25, an ARJ21 aircraft of COMAC took off from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and successfully arrived at Daocheng Yading Airport after a 44-minute flight. This is an important stop for the ongoing ARJ21 aircraft "Around the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau" demonstration flight.
Daocheng Yading Airport is located in Haizi Mountain, Sangdui Township, Daocheng County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with an altitude of 4,411 meters. It is currently the highest civil airport in the world. In July 2020, the ARJ21 aircraft flew to the airport for a 15-day test flight, completed the maximum take-off and landing altitude expansion test and test flight, and verified the take-off and landing capabilities of the ARJ21 aircraft in the high-altitude airport environment.
