Bloomberg News, citing sources familiar with the matter, reported that Boeing's 777X delivery schedule has been pushed back from 2026 to early 2027.

The delay could result in billions of dollars in accounting charges for Boeing.

Launch customer Lufthansa has adjusted its fleet plan, with an unnamed source familiar with the matter stating that Lufthansa's fleet plan does not include 777X aircraft until 2027.

Emirates, the 777X's largest customer, has also expressed caution about the delivery schedule, believing the aircraft will not enter service until 2027.

Wall Street analysts estimate that Boeing could face a non-cash accounting charge of $2.5 billion to $4 billion due to the delay. However, Boeing has not specified the specific financial impact.

The 777X program, launched in 2013 and comprising the 777-9, 777-8, and 777F freighter models, was originally scheduled for delivery in 2020. However, the program has been repeatedly delayed due to technical and regulatory reasons.
