Civil Aviation Resource Network October 9, 2022 News: According to a report on the RTHK website on October 7, in order to meet the growing travel demand and future flight plans, Cathay Pacific Airways held a flight attendant job fair for two consecutive days.

Mao Jieqiong, general manager of Cathay Pacific's cabin service department, said that since September, more than 1,000 applications have been received, and the response has been quite enthusiastic. It is expected that 2,000 flight attendants will be recruited in the next one and a half to two years. She noted that Cathay Pacific had more than 200 interviews scheduled for October 7 and 8. Those who pass the interview will undergo 7 weeks of training, and after passing the assessment, they will officially become Cathay Pacific flight attendants.

Mao Jieqiong emphasized that the salaries of flight attendants are not limited to the basic salary. After flying to other places due to work requirements, there will be out-station allowances. It is reported that the basic salary of new recruits is 9,100 yuan. It is expected that each person will work 90 hours per month in the future. The basic salary plus additional work wages and allowances, the monthly salary can reach 17,000 to 18,000 yuan.

Huang Wenjie, general manager of corporate affairs of Cathay Pacific, said that he is very welcome to the government's recent adjustment of the crew quarantine arrangement. He believes that this will help to increase the airline's capacity, but it takes time to increase the capacity. For example, when an aircraft parked in a foreign country is dispatched back to China, inspection and cleaning are required. Wait until they can enter service, and pilots also need to receive additional training.

Huang Wenjie pointed out that the current passenger transport capacity has recovered to 16% of the pre-epidemic level, and improving transport capacity is the top priority. Cathay Pacific aims to recruit about 4,000 employees, including 2,000 flight attendants and 700 pilots.
