On November 25, the annual passenger throughput of Chengdu Tianfu International Airport officially exceeded 50 million, becoming the sixth airport in mainland my country to reach the 50 million mark after Beijing Capital, Shanghai Pudong, Guangzhou Baiyun, Chengdu Shuangliu, and Shenzhen Bao'an. Tianfu Airport has achieved a significant leap from 0 to 50 million annual passenger throughput in just three and a half years since it was put into operation. This is a milestone in the high-quality development of Tianfu Airport, demonstrating the "Tianfu speed" of the construction of Chengdu International Aviation Hub. It is of great significance to consolidate the status of Chengdu International Aviation Hub as the "fourth pole" of China's civil aviation, serve Sichuan in building a strategic highland for opening up to the west and participating in a new base for international competition, and promote the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle.
With dense routes and access to all directions, the hub level is improved from point to surface
As the main hub airport of Chengdu International Aviation Hub and the core airport of the Chengdu-Chongqing world-class airport cluster, Tianfu Airport shoulders the important responsibilities of accelerating the expansion of international routes, supporting the country's opening-up strategy, and enhancing international influence. Since its operation, Tianfu Airport has always made the restoration and development of international routes a priority, continuously optimized the route layout, strengthened cooperation with large domestic and foreign airlines, especially with major base airlines such as Air China and Sichuan Airlines, jointly planned a complex international hub route network, actively sought resources from multiple parties, and opened or increased the number of international passenger and cargo routes; jointly implemented precision marketing, enhanced route visibility and market influence, deepened air-rail transport cooperation, and expanded the scope of hinterland passenger sources. At the same time, Tianfu Airport continued to improve its transfer level, gave full play to its route network, geographical location and flight wave structure advantages, continuously optimized flight transfer connections, and launched the through flight guarantee process for all international transfer flows. Together with Air China and Sichuan Airlines, 16 international through flights were approved. Passengers on through flights can quickly transfer to the next flight without picking up checked baggage and going through baggage check-in procedures again. Actively deepen international cooperation, participate in global civil aviation organization activities such as the World Air Transport Conference and the Air Asia Conference, and promote Tianfu Airport and Chengdu's aviation market. Actively participate in the preparations for the Chengdu International Aviation Hub Development Conference to enhance the international competitiveness and influence of the Chengdu Aviation Hub. At present, Tianfu Airport has opened 62 international and regional routes, including 50 passenger routes and 12 cargo routes. The number of passenger routes ranks first in the central and western regions. The route network covers five continents, and direct flights are available with major global aviation hubs such as London, Frankfurt, Rome, Los Angeles, Doha, Dubai, and Singapore. As of November 25, the annual international and regional passenger throughput exceeded 5 million (ranked fourth in the country), and the number of passenger flights exceeded 31,000, an increase of 157% and 128% year-on-year respectively.
Intelligent empowerment, efficient operation, and optimization of travel experience with smoothness as the first priority
As the airport with the highest proportion of self-service equipment in the country, Tianfu Airport has always been committed to improving "quality" with "intelligence" and seeking "quality" with "innovation", and using intelligent means to ensure smooth travel for passengers. Since the beginning of this year, Tianfu Airport has successively completed projects such as self-service check-in system optimization, pre-security inspection system optimization, T2 check-in island and transfer area renovation, and added a "checked baggage automatic allocation module" to improve the self-service baggage check-in process, effectively shortening the time it takes for passengers to check in. In cooperation with Chengdu Customs, customs inspection and airport security inspection will be integrated into one, equipment will be shared, and processes will be embedded to achieve "one-time inspection, one machine with two screens", further improving the customs clearance experience. In cooperation with airlines, we will carry out bridge docking rate improvement actions, and continue to promote the upgrading and transformation of fully automatic boarding bridges to lay a solid foundation for improving the bridge docking rate. Innovatively create a new generation of intelligent resource allocation system to achieve fully automatic allocation of aircraft stands, remote boarding gates, and inbound baggage carousels, greatly improving ground support efficiency. In 2024, the average bridge docking rate of Tianfu Airport will reach 82.81%, and the highest daily bridge docking rate will reach 86.15%. A total of about 22,000 flights and about 3.2 million passengers will enjoy the bridge service.

Tianfu Airport adheres to the concept of "people enjoy their journey", and cooperates with traffic control, railways, subways, buses and other units to explore information integration channels and optimize multimodal transport services. Focus on the flow of air-rail passengers, set up check-in counters and security check-in channels for air-rail intermodal passengers. Cooperate with railways to provide "door-to-door" full-process caring services, and launch air-rail intermodal products such as free flight changes and air ticket discounts in conjunction with base airlines. Strengthen the matching degree between subway schedules and flight schedules, and open up convenient transit channels between the two airports of Chengdu Aviation Hub. Open 5 airport bus routes, and jointly launch "air-bus intermodal" products with airlines and bus groups to achieve one-stop convenient travel for air and ground transportation. In addition, Tianfu Airport continues to play the role of the "Tianfu-style" airport brand, and joins hands with on-site units to launch service measures such as "Tianfu-style · Love Help", "Tianfu-style · Safe Travel", "Tianfu-style · Perfection", "Overnight Passengers on Domestic Flights Waiting in Advance", and "Convenient Payment for Overseas Guests".
