Civil Aviation Resources Network, November 25, 2024: According to foreign media reports, Finnair announced that due to the pilots' union's plan to launch a two-day strike over salary and working conditions, Finnair will be forced to cancel nearly 300 flights between December 9 and 13.

According to Finnair's estimates, the strike will affect about 33,000 passengers, some of whom may need to rebook flights and delay their travel for a few days. Jaakko Schildt, Chief Operating Officer of Finnair, expressed regret that the pilots' association chose to strike instead of continuing negotiations.

During the strike, about 140 flights were canceled on December 9, and 150 flights will be grounded on December 13. Finnair said it would try its best to arrange other airline flights or other alternative flights for passengers.

Schildt reminded that it would take time to find suitable new flights for thousands of passengers, and the customer service department may be very busy on weekends. He added: "We implore passengers to be patient, and we are doing our best to ensure that passengers can complete their travel plans smoothly."
