On October 9, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun hosted a regular press conference.
A reporter asked, "The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently stated that direct flights between India and China will resume by the end of October. What is China's comment?"
Guo Jiakun explained that the resumption of direct flights between China and India by the end of October this year is the latest manifestation of both sides earnestly implementing the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Modi during their meeting in Tianjin on August 31. It is also a positive measure to facilitate friendly exchanges between the more than 2.8 billion people of China and India.
Guo Jiakun stated that China is willing to work with India to view and handle China-India relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, to be good-neighborly friends and partners for mutual success, to achieve a harmonious "Dragon and Elephant Dance" and to benefit the people of both countries more and better, and to make due contributions to maintaining peace and prosperity in Asia and the world at large.
