1. Emirates Airlines Calls on Airbus and Boeing to Launch Larger New A350 and 777X Models

Emirates Airlines President Sir Tim Clark has called on Airbus and Boeing to develop a larger, next-generation, long-range aircraft to replace the Airbus A380, emphasizing Emirates' urgent need for a wide-body aircraft with greater passenger capacity. Clark stated that the Airbus A350-1000 is "too small" to replace the A380. Clark also urged Boeing to develop a stretched version of the 777X.

2. Airline Accidents Double, Russian Government Launches Airline Safety Review

Russian authorities will launch a comprehensive review of regional airlines due to a continued increase in aviation accidents and casualties in recent years. Official data shows that commercial aviation accidents in Russia have increased from 8 in 2023 to 17 in 2024, with fatalities rising from 12 to 37 during the same period, a more than threefold increase.
