According to CCTV News, the latest statistics from the Civil Aviation Administration of China show that since the beginning of this year, my country's air cargo volume has maintained a rapid growth trend, and the overall scale has reached the best level in history. The domestic market continues to grow, the international market performs well, and international cargo flights remain at a high level.
In the first half of this year, my country's aviation industry completed a total cargo and mail transportation volume of 4.174 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 27.4%. International routes completed a cargo and mail transportation volume of 1.651 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 34.3%, and the proportion of international routes reached 39.6%, an increase of 2 percentage points year-on-year.
The belly cargo capacity of international passenger flights has been further improved. In the first half of the year, my country had flights to 154 overseas destinations in 71 countries, and the number of flights increased by 2.9 times year-on-year. In addition, in the first half of the year, 26,700 scheduled cargo flights were guaranteed, a year-on-year increase of 6%, and regular cargo flights were maintained with 48 overseas destinations in 42 countries, of which 8,784 flights were provided by Chinese airlines, with a market share of 32.9%, and 17,900 flights were provided by foreign airlines, with a market share of 67.1%.
In order to meet the timeliness and flexibility requirements of the transportation of the "new three" goods such as cross-border e-commerce, electric vehicles, lithium batteries and photovoltaic products, the number of irregular international cargo flights has also maintained an upward trend. In the first half of this year, 3,300 international cargo charter flights were carried out, an increase of 9% year-on-year and 8.5 times that of the same period in 2019.
