According to the CCTV News app, reporters learned from the Civil Aviation Administration of China that in the first three quarters of 2025, civil aviation safety operations remained generally stable, and transport production maintained steady growth. The industry's total transport turnover, passenger volume, and cargo and mail volume reached 122.03 billion ton-kilometers, 580 million passengers, and 7.395 million tons, respectively, representing year-on-year increases of 10.3%, 5.2%, and 14.0%, respectively. A total of 4.88 million flights of all types were supported, averaging 18,000 flights per day, a year-on-year increase of 5%. The flight regularity rate was 89.7%, a year-on-year increase of 5.2 percentage points.


From the third quarter, civil aviation transport production exhibited four characteristics.


First, civil aviation transport production maintained rapid overall growth. The industry's total transport turnover reached 43.68 billion ton-kilometers, a year-on-year increase of 12.4%. A total of 1.722 million flights of all types were supported, averaging 19,000 flights per day, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%. During the summer travel season in particular, civil aviation's monthly total transport volume reached 14.8 billion ton-kilometers and 15.18 billion ton-kilometers, respectively, setting new historical records.

Second, civil aviation passenger traffic maintained steady growth. The industry carried 210 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%. During the summer travel season, monthly passenger volume exceeded 70 million for consecutive months, with international passenger volume exceeding 7 million for consecutive months, both setting new monthly records.

Third, civil aviation cargo demand remained strong. The industry carried 2.611 million tons of cargo and mail, a year-on-year increase of 12.8%. International cargo traffic has maintained double-digit year-on-year growth this year.

Fourth, flight efficiency indicators further improved. Aircraft daily utilization reached 9.6 hours, an increase of 0.1 hour year-on-year; scheduled passenger load factor and scheduled load factor reached 86.0% and 73.9%, respectively, both increasing by 1.1 percentage points year-on-year. Flight regularity was 86%, a year-on-year increase of 5.1 percentage points.
