Starting October 26th, China Eastern Airlines will begin its 2025 winter-spring flight schedule. In the new season, China Eastern will deploy a total of 820 passenger aircraft, serving 253 domestic and international destinations in 39 countries, including 88 international and regional destinations. The airline will operate an average of approximately 3,130 daily flights, a 0.4% increase compared to the 2024 winter-spring season. An average of 3,220 international and regional flights will be operated weekly, an 11.65% increase compared to the previous season.
38 New Domestic Routes
For the 2025 winter-spring season, China Eastern Airlines will adhere to its hub development strategy, further optimizing its route network and enhancing passenger travel convenience. During the new season, China Eastern Airlines plans to operate 953 passenger routes, including 756 domestic routes and 197 international and regional routes.
For domestic routes, China Eastern will strengthen its core hub development and express route layout, launching 38 new domestic routes, primarily to popular winter tourism destinations such as the three northeastern provinces and Xinjiang. In response to the winter travel craze of "traveling north to enjoy the ice," China Eastern Airlines has launched several new ice and snow routes, increasing the frequency of flights to popular destinations such as Harbin, Changchun, Shenyang, and Changbai Mountain. These include the newly launched Zhuhai-Changzhou-Shenyang, Ningbo-Changbai Mountain, Changchun-Wuhan, Lanzhou-Changchun, and Kunming-Harbin routes, as well as increasing the frequency of flights to Qingdao-Changchun.
With the recent rise in popularity of ice and snow tourism in Xinjiang, China Eastern Airlines has added a round-trip route from Hangzhou to Urumqi in the new season, providing passengers with more convenient options for skiing. Currently, China Eastern Airlines operates 10 stations in Xinjiang, covering ski resorts such as Urumqi, Kashgar, and Altay, bringing its domestic flight network to 26 destinations.
"Sky Express" Routes Increase to 49
China Eastern Airlines precisely meets demand, and the total number of "Sky Express" routes in operation will reach 49 in the new season, with an average daily frequency of approximately 899 flights. These routes cover cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Xi'an, Kunming, Qingdao, Chongqing, Wuhan, and Changsha, greatly facilitating travel for business travelers.
Among them, the "Beijing-Shanghai Express" has the highest frequency, with an average daily round-trip flight frequency of 66, covering nearly every hour and half-hour schedule during the day. Furthermore, China Eastern Airlines maintains a high frequency of round-trip flights on international express routes such as Shanghai-Bangkok and Shanghai-Singapore. Taking advantage of visa-free policies in many countries in Southeast Asia and other regions, passengers can easily travel abroad.
As the world's first operator of China's domestically produced large aircraft, China Eastern Airlines has deployed all 11 of its existing C919s into the new season, operating 12 routes to 11 destinations in 10 cities.
The world's longest international route has been newly launched.
Against the backdrop of a continued recovery in outbound demand, China Eastern Airlines is committed to "flying further, flying internationally, and flying to emerging markets," continuously adding and increasing the number of international and regional routes.
The 2025 winter-spring season coincides with the southern hemisphere's summer, with international travel, particularly to Australia and Southeast Asia, becoming popular destinations. In response to the surge in winter outbound travel, China Eastern Airlines has launched new routes for the new season, including Beijing Daxing-Muscat, Taiyuan-Kunming-Kuala Lumpur, Taiyuan-Changsha-Singapore, Lanzhou-Kunming-Bangkok, and Shanghai Pudong-Auckland-Buenos Aires.
At the same time, increasing the number of popular international and regional routes continues to enhance connectivity, including Shanghai Pudong-Toyama, Japan; Shanghai Pudong-Hanoi; Xi'an-Phu Quoc; Kunming-Vientiane; Kunming-Phnom Penh; and Taiyuan-Hong Kong.
It's worth noting that China Eastern Airlines' Shanghai Pudong-Auckland-Buenos Aires route will launch on December 4, 2025. This 20,000-kilometer route, connecting the Eastern and Western Hemispheres and the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, will become the world's first commercial route connecting antipodal cities and set a new record for the world's longest one-way flight.
New Senior Products Launched for Double Ninth Festival
Coinciding with the Double Ninth Festival during the new flight season, and with the continued surge in travel demand from the senior population, China Eastern Airlines is launching new senior products early in the new season, warmly upgrading its "Silver Wing Benefits" for older passengers.
Starting October 27, 2025, China Eastern Airlines will launch the "Silver Wing Seniors Double Ninth Festival Leisure Tour" and "Silver Wing Seniors Double Ninth Festival Happy Journey" promotions for passengers aged 55 and over.
During the promotional period, eligible senior passengers purchasing domestic flights on China Eastern and Shanghai Airlines can enjoy multiple benefits. Individual travelers who choose the "Silver Wings Seniors Double Ninth Festival Leisure Tour" can enjoy discounts of up to 12% on select fare classes. Meanwhile, small group travelers with three to nine friends and family members who choose the "Silver Wings Seniors Double Ninth Festival Happy Tour" can enjoy a 50 yuan discount per person per flight segment for every 300 yuan spent (excluding fuel and airport construction taxes).
In addition to airfare discounts, China Eastern Airlines also continues to prioritize the travel experience of its senior passengers. Passengers aged 55 to 70 can pre-book their "Companion Service" through the China Eastern Airlines app. This service is available in two categories: "Ground Guidance Service at Departure" and "Full-Process Guidance Service." The service is currently available at 16 airports, including Shanghai Hongqiao, Shanghai Pudong, Beijing Capital, Beijing Daxing, Kunming, and Xi'an, providing senior passengers with one-stop, secure companionship.
