Civil Aviation Resources Network, December 02, 2024: According to Airport Technology, Heart Aerospace, a Swedish company specializing in the production of electric aircraft, has announced its plan to conduct the first test flight of its demonstration aircraft Heart X1 at New York's Plattsburgh International Airport in 2025.
The Heart X1 is the largest all-electric aircraft to date and represents an important milestone in the development of the company's ES-30 hybrid-electric regional airliner.
The ES-30 features an all-electric, zero-emission range of 200 kilometers and an extended hybrid range of 400 kilometers, designed to provide sustainability for short-haul routes.
Heart Aerospace launched the Heart X1 aircraft at its factory in Gothenburg earlier this year. Currently, the Heart X1 aircraft is undergoing key system testing to ensure safe test flights in Plattsburgh.
Anders Forslund, co-founder and CEO of Heart Aerospace, said: "We will continue to drive air travel towards a cleaner and more sustainable future. Electric commercial aircraft have the potential to reduce operating costs for U.S. airlines and create huge opportunities for rebuilding regional routes, thereby stimulating local economies, promoting tourism and enhancing transportation in urban hubs."
