1. Airbus Delivers 10 A321neo Aircraft in a Single Day
As 2025 draws to a close, Airbus is working at full speed. It completed the delivery of 72 aircraft in November, bringing its total deliveries for the year to 657. To achieve its goal of delivering approximately 800 aircraft this year, Airbus still needs to complete more than 100 more deliveries. This ambitious goal has spurred Airbus to operate at full capacity. On December 19, Airbus delivered 10 A321neo aircraft to customers in a single day.
2. South Korean National Assembly Passes Bill to Investigate 2024 Jeju Air Plane Crash
The South Korean National Assembly passed a bill on Monday (December 22) to launch an independent investigation into the 2024 Jeju Air plane crash. The accident, which killed 179 people, is the deadliest air disaster in South Korean history. A panel of 18 members of Congress will investigate the possible causes of the accident, including whether sufficient measures were taken to mitigate the risk of bird strikes, whether there was engine or mechanical failure, and whether the aircraft struck an embankment at the end of the runway.
3. Mexico's Antitrust Commission to Review Volaris-Viva Aerobus Merger
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Monday that Mexico's Antitrust Commission will review the merger plans of low-cost carriers Viva Aerobus and Volaris. She added that she believes the deal is good news for the Mexican aviation industry.
4. Air India to Receive First Boeing 787-9 in Q1 2026

5. Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport to Raise Airline Service Fees in 2026
Moscow's largest aviation hub, Sheremetyevo Airport, plans to raise service fees for both domestic and international airlines starting next January. Russian airlines, including Aeroflot, Rossiya Airlines, and Vizcaya Obrador, will face a 10% increase in security fees, terminal usage fees, and landing fees. Passenger service fees for both domestic and international flights will also rise by 10%. Service fees for foreign airlines will increase by 3%.
6. Gulf Airlines Expect Further Delays in Airbus and Boeing Aircraft Deliveries in 2026
Industry analysts warn that more than one-fifth of the aircraft scheduled for delivery to Gulf airlines in 2026 are at risk of delay, further exacerbating the already strained relationship between Gulf airlines and aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing.
