On March 20, 2023, the 228th session of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) adopted the 93rd revision to Annex 10, Aviation Telecommunications, Volume 1, Radio Aids to Navigation.
This revision primarily addresses the following aspects: First, it adds provisions regarding additional operating frequencies for the Global Positioning System (GPS), Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS), and Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS), and supports Dual-Frequency Multi-Constellation (DFMC) Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) by introducing provisions for the new BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) and Galileo system; second, it supports ionospheric gradient mitigation for Ground-Based Augmentation Systems (GBAS).
This revision, after being approved by the Council, will officially enter into force on July 31, 2023, and will be applicable from November 2, 2023.
