29 November 2022: Lufthansa Cargo has added Hanoi to its global route network for Boeing 777 freighters this month as a new destination for its 2022/2023 winter flight schedule. The inaugural flight of this all-cargo route took off from Frankfurt on November 2, and arrived in Hanoi on November 3 after stopping in Mumbai. Since then, Lufthansa Cargo has flown to Hanoi twice a week with an all-cargo aircraft, which, in addition to its existing twice-weekly all-cargo flight to Ho Chi Minh City, marks the capacity of the cargo airline to serve the Vietnamese market This is doubled.
At present, all cargo flights of Lufthansa Cargo to Vietnam are carried by AeroLogic using Boeing 777 freighters. AeroLogic has been a joint venture between DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo since 2007. Lufthansa Cargo's long-haul fleet consists of a total of 16 Boeing 777 freighters, five of which are operated by AeroLogic. These flights are executed and marketed under the Lufthansa flight number. The payload of each Boeing 777 freighter can be as high as 103 tons, there are 27 container positions on the main deck, and 10 standard pallets can be assembled in the belly compartment, with a range of 9045 kilometers.
