News from Civil Aviation Resources Network on May 17, 2024: According to the official WeChat account of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, recently, the Malaysian government authorities have implemented the latest regulations to simplify entry measures for Chinese citizens. From May 2, 2024 to December 31, 2024, Chinese citizens entering Malaysia visa-free are required to possess the following materials:
1. A complete and undamaged Chinese passport valid for more than 6 months;
2. The Malaysia Electronic Arrival Card (MDAC, see the attached instructions for specific requirements) filled out online within 3 days before entering Malaysia, and a printed MDAC confirmation letter;
3. Return air ticket.
The above measures have been implemented at all border ports of Maldives. When entering the country, all persons are still required to undergo security inspections by Malaysian Immigration Bureau officials, including biometric (fingerprint collection) inspections. If they are found on the blacklist or suspect list, they will be prohibited from entry.
Warm reminder from the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia: Please cooperate with immigration officials when entering and leaving the country, take the initiative to present relevant materials, answer relevant questions truthfully when asked by immigration officials, and patiently communicate and explain. If you encounter communication difficulties, you can ask fellow passengers or airline staff assist. If you enter Malaysia to engage in activities such as study and work that require prior approval from the Malaysian authorities, or if you plan to stay for more than 30 days, you should still apply for a visa that is consistent with the purpose of entry before entry.
I wish all Chinese citizens coming to Malaysia a safe and smooth journey!
