At 3:52 PM on September 2nd, China Southern Airlines flight CZ375, carrying 263 passengers, successfully took off from Guangzhou, bound for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's largest city. The launch of this route will directly connect the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with the core economic zone of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), creating a "new air corridor" for China-Saudi Arabia energy trade, infrastructure investment, and cultural and tourism exchanges, further deepening economic, trade, and cultural cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia.

2. Hainan Airlines Plans to Launch Haikou-Jakarta International Route on September 26th

Hainan Airlines plans to launch direct flights from Haikou to Jakarta starting September 26, 2025. Hainan Airlines plans to operate four round-trip flights per week on the Haikou-Jakarta international route, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The outbound flight is scheduled to depart Haikou Meilan International Airport at 2:50 PM Beijing time and arrive at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 6:10 PM local time, with an estimated flight time of 4 hours and 20 minutes. The return flight is scheduled to depart Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 7:15 PM local time and arrive at Haikou Meilan International Airport at 12:35 AM Beijing time, with an estimated flight time of 4 hours and 20 minutes.

3. New look for boarding passes! Jieyang Chaoshan Airport launches the "Chaoshan Cultural Business Card" boarding pass.

On September 4th, Jieyang Chaoshan Airport launched the "Chaoshan Cultural Business Card" boarding pass. With a revamped look, the boarding pass allows passengers to experience Chaoshan culture in a compact space and embark on a brand new air travel experience. The newly launched "Chaoshan Cultural Business Card" boarding pass is a new initiative by Jieyang Chaoshan Airport to further develop its "Chaoshan Flying" service brand. 5. Starting September 10th, 00:00, Zhengzhou Airport's domestic flight cut-off time shortened to 35 minutes

To facilitate travel for passengers, Zhengzhou Airport will begin using the new boarding pass starting September 10th, shortening the domestic flight cut-off time from 40 minutes to 35 minutes before scheduled departure. This is another "speed-up" initiative delivered by Zhengzhou Airport, in collaboration with resident airlines, following the reduction of boarding cut-off time from 45 minutes to 40 minutes in 2023. It marks a new step forward in Zhengzhou Airport's operational support capabilities.

6. Jinan International Airport: Domestic Flight Cut-off Time Reduced to 30 Minutes, Effective 00:00, September 6th

To actively respond to the Civil Aviation Administration's passenger transportation service requirements and further enhance passenger travel convenience and service experience, Jinan International Airport plans to adjust the check-in deadline for domestic outbound flights from 35 minutes to 30 minutes before departure, effective 00:00, September 6th, 2025. Gate closing time will remain at 15 minutes before scheduled departure.

7. Emirates Eliminates Middle Seat in New Boeing 777 Business Class

By eliminating the outdated 2-3-2 cabin layout, Emirates has finally addressed one of the most criticized issues with its Boeing 777-300ER business class aircraft. The airline is fully implementing a new 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring direct aisle access for every passenger. The retrofit program is slated to begin by the end of 2024, and 25 of Emirates' 120 Boeing 777-300ERs have already been retrofitted.
