Small drones will be subject to recall management
The State Administration for Market Regulation recently issued an announcement to implement recall management for micro, light, and small civil unmanned aircraft.
Manufacturers and importers of micro, light, and small civil unmanned aircraft are responsible for the safety of their products. If it is confirmed that the product is defective, they shall immediately recall the product and shall not conceal the defect. They shall immediately stop producing, selling, and importing the defective product, and notify other businesses. The person ceased operations.
The State Administration for Market Regulation is responsible for guiding, coordinating, supervising and managing the nationwide recall of micro, light and small civil unmanned aircraft. Provincial market supervision and management departments are responsible for supervising and managing the recall of micro, light and small civil unmanned aircraft within their respective administrative regions. If the market supervision and administration department at or above the provincial level believes that micro, light, or small civil unmanned aircraft may have defects that can cause serious consequences or have a large impact, they may directly organize a defect investigation. If a product is confirmed to be defective but the manufacturer or importer fails to recall it, the State Administration for Market Regulation will order it to recall it.
The micro, light and small civil unmanned aircraft referred to in this announcement are classified according to the relevant provisions of the "Interim Regulations on the Management of Unmanned Aircraft Flights". This announcement shall come into effect on the date of issuance.
