Civil Aviation Resources Network, June 27, 2024: According to foreign media reports, a light aircraft in California, USA, had an accident while taking off in Yuba City, California, and collided with a passing white van. After the collision between the plane and the van, both the plane and the vehicle were seriously damaged. The female driver of the vehicle, Arata, and the pilot of the plane were almost unharmed.

The incident occurred at around 6 a.m. on June 26, local time. Arata, a 41-year-old woman, said that she was driving a pickup truck to go to work when a light aircraft Republic RC-3 Seabee suddenly appeared in front of her.
The California Highway Patrol said that the plane had insufficient kinetic energy when taking off, broke through the fence and then hit the pickup truck, breaking the windshield of the pickup truck, smashing the driver's side door, and severely damaging the small plane parked in the field.
Arata said: "I can't believe I was hit by a plane and survived." It is reported that the pilot of the plane was not injured either.
