Civil Aviation Resource Network News on May 12, 2023: According to Lianhe Zaobao, the unmanned bus at Hong Kong International Airport will be officially put into use to pick up and drop off employees next Monday (May 15), and it is expected that passengers will be able to take it next year.
According to Hong Kong's China News Agency, the unmanned bus can carry 14 people each time, and after 1.5 hours of charging, it can travel 200 kilometers. The bus will be equipped with radar, GPS receiving system, image analysis camera, closed-circuit television and remote monitoring system and other devices.

Yao Zhaocong, Executive Director of Airport Operations of the Hong Kong Airport Authority, said that the unmanned bus has completed 1,000 tests earlier, and a safety officer will be arranged in the initial stage of operation. It is hoped that there will be no need to arrange a safety officer after four to six months of operation.
The Hong Kong Airport Authority plans to introduce more unmanned buses in the short term to save human resources. It is expected that the unmanned driving system will be able to carry passengers to and from the airport, Aerospace City and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge port next year, and can be extended to the center of Tung Chung in 2028.
