According to foreign pilot Thomas Beam on Instagram, American Airlines took delivery of its two newest aircraft, registrations N313UR and N812UP, on October 9th. These two Boeing 737 MAX 8s were transferred from Boeing Field (BFI) in Washington State to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in Texas.
According to Planespotters.net, these arrivals bring American Airlines' total fleet size to 1,000 aircraft, making it the second-largest airline in the world, behind United Airlines.
In recent years, American Airlines has balanced its purchases across the three major aircraft manufacturers, including 85 Airbus A321neos, 85 Boeing 737 MAX 10s, and 90 Embraer E175s.
American Airlines' latest order, announced in 2024, brings its Airbus A320 family fleet to 485 aircraft, making it the world's largest A320 fleet. According to Planespotters.net, American Airlines' 737 fleet currently consists of 386 aircraft, 83 of which are 737 MAX 8 models.
