According to CCTV News, on August 7, local time, Jennifer Homendy, chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), told the media that the emergency situation of Alaska Airlines' Boeing 737 MAX 9 passenger plane in January this year was completely avoidable because the aircraft manufacturer should have discovered the problem and resolved the unauthorized production steps long ago. Homendy said: "There have been countless Boeing audits, Federal Aviation Administration audits, compliance reviews, and compliance action plans that document unauthorized work steps and removals."
On January 5, a door plug (embedded emergency door) fell off a Boeing 737 MAX 9 passenger plane of Alaska Airlines in the United States during flight. Investigators found that four bolts that should have secured the door plug in place were missing.
