According to Vietnam Airlines' official WeChat account, the airline has recently implemented a series of new aviation safety measures designed to reduce the risks associated with the use of lithium batteries on board. This action reinforces its ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of passenger and flight safety.

Under the new policy, the use of lithium batteries will be strictly prohibited on all Vietnam Airlines Group flights (including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and Vasco Airlines). Passengers may still carry lithium batteries as carry-on baggage, but they must be declared at the check-in counter and kept clearly visible and easily accessible throughout the flight.

To ensure a swift and effective response in the event of a lithium battery-related incident, Vietnam Airlines has equipped its aircraft with specialized safety tools, including heat-resistant gloves and fire and smoke-proof bags, all from reliable manufacturers and certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam. In addition, all crew members have received enhanced training to ensure they are fully prepared to respond to any onboard emergency.

In addition to improving its inflight service, Vietnam Airlines has also worked closely with the Ministry of Public Security's Immigration Department to strengthen security screening procedures at major international airports, including Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. These measures are designed to help passengers identify potential risks before boarding.

Vietnam Airlines will continue to monitor global safety developments and align with international best practices to provide a safe and reliable travel experience for all passengers. Vietnam Airlines is committed to regularly updating its operating procedures and strictly adhering to the guidelines set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and relevant domestic and international aviation authorities.
