According to the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam, Dinh Viet Thanh, director of the Vietnam Aviation Administration, said that in the first 10 months of 2022, the number of passengers in Vietnam's airports exceeded 81 million.

It is estimated that in 2022, the passenger throughput of Vietnam's airports is expected to reach 100 million, compared with 120 million in 2019 (before the outbreak).

In the first 10 months, Vietnamese airlines carried a total of 40 million passengers, and the total number of passengers is expected to reach 55 million in 2022.

Dinh Viet Thanh said that in the first 10 months, Vietnam's domestic air transport market recovered one of the fastest in the world, but the international market has only recovered about 50% now. Some markets, such as South Korea and Japan, have opened up, but tourism demand remains low. The recovery of the aviation industry has not been as good as expected, but the bright spot in the international market in the first 10 months of 2022 is that Vietnam has opened up the Indian market, which has a larger number of passengers.
