Russia's Volga-Dnepr aviation group has fired 200 Boeing pilots as international sanctions remain in place, Simpleflying reported.

The pilots belong to the group's AirBridgeCargo and Atran Cargo, and fly Boeing 737, Boeing 747 and Boeing 777 freighters.

As sanctions persist, Volga-Dnepr Air Group can no longer maintain its Western-built aircraft and its international operations are severely limited.

It is reported that the pilot received a dismissal notice in July. Volga-Dnepr Aviation Group is still retaining a small number of Boeing pilots in case it returns Boeing planes to lessors after getting approval from the Russian Ministry of Transport.
