Civil Aviation Resources Network, March 27, 2025: According to foreign media reports, on March 21, local time, an Air France flight originally scheduled to fly from Paris Orly Airport to Guadeloupe returned urgently midway due to safety hazards in the cabin. The reason was that a passenger's lost mobile phone caused safety concerns.
According to AirLive, Air France flight AF750 took off from Paris Orly Airport at 11:51 a.m. local time. About an hour later, a passenger reported that his mobile phone was lost. Despite a comprehensive search by the crew, the device was still not found. To ensure flight safety, the crew decided to return.
At that time, the Boeing 777-300ER passenger plane was over the west coast of France. There were 375 passengers and 12 crew members on board. The plane landed safely at Paris Orly Airport at 3:25 p.m.
After landing, the relevant staff of the airline immediately launched a search for the missing mobile phone. Only 20 minutes later, the flight took off again and continued to Guadeloupe.
Air France has not yet explained why a lost mobile phone caused the flight to return, but many media outlets speculated that the flight diversion may be related to the safety risks posed by lithium batteries.
